Frequently Asked Questions
Tickets & Shows
Where can I buy tickets?
Tickets are sold through the venue hosting the show. Head to our Tour Dates page to find a performance near you and grab your seats before they’re gone.
How long is the show?
Duration is 2 Hours with 20 20-minute intermissions. Plan to arrive early for pre-show activities!
Is this a concert or a play?
Both. Folsom Prison Experience is a full-scale immersive tribute drama that combines theatrical storytelling with live musical performances.
Are all shows the same?
While the core production remains consistent, no two nights are exactly alike. Each crowd brings its own energy—and each venue becomes its own version of Folsom Prison.
Can I buy tickets at the door?
That depends on the venue and availability. We recommend buying in advance to secure your spot—you don’t want to miss lockdown.
Is the show appropriate for all ages?
We recommend it for ages 13 and up due to mature themes, prison references, and the general intensity of the experience.
What to Expect
Is the show immersive or interactive?
It’s immersive, not interactive. You’ll feel like you’re in Folsom Prison in 1968, but we won’t pull you on stage, touch you, or single you out. You’re part of the story—from the safety of your seat.
What should I wear?
Dress the part if you’d like! Many fans wear prison-inspired gear or FPE merch, but it’s totally optional. Come comfortable and ready to enjoy the show.
What happens before the show starts?
You’ll go through “intake” with optional mugshots, meet your fellow “inmates,” and settle into your seat. The experience starts as soon as you walk through the doors. Our version of “intake” is very fun! We’ll setup a Folsom themed backdrop for you take photos with your friends and there may even be some guest appearances.
Can I take photos or video during the show?
Photos before and after are encouraged, especially at our set pieces and photo ops. During the show, we ask that you refrain from recording so everyone can stay in the moment.
Is the venue transformed into a prison?
Yes. We bring our own set and lighting to create the full prison experience—your venue becomes Folsom for one night only.
Is the show accessible?
We do our best to accommodate all guests. Accessibility may vary depending on the venue, so we recommend reaching out to the host site for specific accommodations.
